James A. Johnson, MD, FACS, has been practicing General Surgery in Tulsa since 1980.  He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Organizations of which he is currently a member include the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association, Tulsa County Medical Society, Oklahoma Surgical Society, Tulsa Surgical Society, Southwestern Surgical Congress, Southern Medical Association, American College of Physician Executives and American Burn Association.

Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in 1975.  He completed his internship at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Campus in 1976.  He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa Medical College in 1980.

Dr. Johnson has filled various community involvement roles at a wide range of organizations including Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Citizen CPR, Leadership Tulsa, American Cancer Society, Tulsa Heart Center Foundation, American Heart Association and many others.

Dr. Johnson is currently welcoming new patients.  Most insurance plans are accepted.  His office is located at 1809 E. 13^th St., Suite 400 in Tulsa.  Appointments can be set by calling 918-599-8200 between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, or between 8:30 am and 5 pm on Fridays.
