Clinical Trials
The UPC Research Department has three studies currently open for enrollment.
- Diabetes: Patients with type II DM, not adequately controlled on metformin alone. The study is sponsored by J & J. The study drug is a novel agent with an impact on renal glucose transport.
- Hypertension: This is a randomized trial of multidrug combinations of a calcium channel blocker, an ARB and HCTZ. All patients will be on an active combination of at least two drugs. The sponsor is Daichi-Sankyo.
- Female Sexual Dysfunction: A placebo controlled trial of a hormonal “patch” for women who are post menopausal or post hysterectomy with low libido. The sponsor is BioSante.
For each of these trials, qualifying volunteers will receive study drug, all study related lab and visits at no cost.
